The only way to detect parasites on your pet is to check over its skin. Checking for parasites should be a regular part of grooming your pet, as grooming provides an excellent opportunity to look for fleas, ticks, and lice. If you notice your pet scratching an area repeatedly, check that area for parasites. If you do find parasites on your pet, DO NOT JUST APPLY A FLEA COLLAR OR SPRAY YOUR PET WITH ANTI-PARASITE SPRAYS. You should first figure out what sort of parasite is afflicting your pet. In many cases, you will need to treat the pet's living space as well as the pet itself. Ask your veterinarian for advice if you find parasites on your pet. Questions? Ask Dr. Muller at muller@AnimalCareClinic.com.
